Lesson 1

Fit matters most

Before you think about color or brand, look at how the pants sit on your body. Three things decide if they look good: where the waist sits, how much room you have in the thigh, and how wide the bottom of the leg is.

• Rise — how high the waistband sits. Mid rise works for most guys.
• Thigh — you should be able to pinch about an inch of fabric.
• Leg opening — a narrow one looks slim, a wide one looks relaxed.
